Julia Blend (she/her) is a graphic designer, grassroots organizer, and digital communications organizer based in Richmond, VA.

Julia’s personal work explores her life long journey of learning, understanding, and coping with anxiety disorders and it’s manifestations. Her practice is focused on producing a range of digital + physical projects in design. These projects explore concepts of personal and communal relationships to mental health/neurodivergence/disability. Other works seek to unearth emotions such as sensitivity, vulnerability, fervor, sincerity, and more.

She also enjoys reimagining systems in terms of an anti-capitalist future, and questioning the role of creatives in capitalism. Her work is deeply informed by abolitionists, archivists, and local community members.

Julia’s experience in art and design involves publication + poster design for events and political education trainings, zine-making, sewing, painting, riso-graph printing, screenprinting and drawing.
